Luck Be a Lady in Lee Vinin...

Luck Be a Lady in Lee Vining: Those of you who have been following the saga of Ken Layne & the Corvids -- we're having our debut show this Saturday at the Thunderbird Saloon in North Hollywood -- may remember that a recording session known for its near-magical good fortune was topped off by a cruel act of stupid bad luck.

And so it goes, to our scheduled mixing session Tuesday, which is supposed to wrap this great record up. Layne was making his way down the gorgeous 395 this evening, when his Jeep just cut out. Kaput. Not far from the lonesome town of Lee Vining. Tomorrow he gets a morning tow to Mammoth, where they actually having working mechanics, and he'll find out whether it's a single missing gizmo, or a sad broken automobile. Meanwhile the Mixing Must Go On, in the form of Coulter & Axl butting heads during the day, and we'll see when beard-boy can make it to Pasadena. Just letting you know!

No wonder every time I want to meet Ken something goes wrong!
