s ~13. Like being able to recite every line of dialogue unhealthy... What happened to TSOL though? Those later records are like less-catchy Motley Crue.

Those "last records" had no original TSOL members. Legal battles throughout the 90s finally resulted in Jack winning (or I think buying) the rights back to the name TSOL.

And we claimed they were from LB - becuase they were - sorta'. Jack is from LB, but at least one of the other guys is from HB.

Wes! Christ! Sorry for not calling you back. I had to go to Schwarzengroper's HQ, and totally flaked ... I'll call you later today.

"Over the past 15 years, I've asked various people who claimed to have been into the whole punk thing back in the 80's whether they had heard of TSOL and if so, if they had any of their tapes or records. They always looked at me like I was nuts. I didn't know where TSOL was from , when they had made mucic or any of that. All I had was that damned cassette that I'd lost years ago. "

Wow...I'm shocked. I don't know how anyone--especially if you were acquainted with LA area bands--couldn't know who TSOL were. They were, as these things went then, huge. Your friends did you wrong!

I saw them a couple times, with Jack and after he left, which, if I remember correctly, looked to a lot of fans as the demise of the band. Then they made the same mistake as seemingly half of all punk bands, got big hair and went pseudo-glam meets AC/DC, and more or less lost the plot. I'm not sure where they're at as a band anymore, but maybe Matt's column says so, which I'm off to read!

If you're looking to stock up, there might be a CD reissue of the first and third e.p.s together; as they were on vinyl. The album "Dance with Me" was great too.
