You publish in the heat of the campaign for maximum exposure and effect - that's obvious isn't it.

I'm really begining to think you guys need some real tabloid journalism....

On Sunday, there was an article in the LA Times indicating that the Times had been provided on Friday with a full transcript of the interview in which Schwarzenegger had allegedly--a quarter of a century ago--said that he "admired Hitler." The Sunday article acknowledged that Schwarzenegger's comments (which actually indicated an admiration of Hitler's public speaking prowess) were made "in the context of Schwarzenegger's disparaging of the Nazi regime."

This clarification (which probably should have been a full blown retraction) of the numerous "Arnold loves Hitler" front page stories, appeared in the Sunday edition on page 38, in the third paragraph of an article with the innocuous headline, "Filmmaker in Hiding Over Furor."

No bias there.

Publish the day before your competition will publish. Publish when you've got a solid story that won't get dismissed as too thin or too anonymous. Publish when your lawyers say OK.

ASAP, if its credible it will have legs.

Brings up another question;
When is the appropriate time before the election to begin creating the candidate, writing the scripts, and shooting the movies with the constituency pleasing sound bites like -- "Hasta la vista baby!" ?
GE groomed Reagan for years.
Arnold seems to represent an efficiency in candidate production cycle time.
Anything to the "Arnold's Enron Secret" story by Palast?
