Thanks Matt! Your poetry teacher sounds a lot more annoying than my two drama teachers put together!

Another time, I sat in the class and took furious notes of all the ridiculous things he would say ... "Poetry is just a symphony of echoes," etc. And then collected about 20 lines worth, put them into country-western stanzas with taglines like "baby" every two or four lines ("poetry is just a symphony of echoes, baby ..."). Then I turned it in, I believe under the title "Billy Joel Revisited." He singled the poem out for praise, natch, and read it out loud to the class....
