Pujols has taken a narrow lead in Win Shares (having played 26 more games helps), but Bonds will probably play the entire month of September from here on in, more or less. It should be interesting to see who gets the MVP, particularly if the Cards don't make the playoffs (since the Giants are more or less a lock at this point). No one has ever won three straight MVPs--my guess is that one or more voters will refuse to vote for Bonds for that reason alone unless Bonds has a monster month of September and Pujols has a lousy one.
