l Genius ... and then he'll play some Roger Waters solo stuff, and some awful George Thoroughbad, and you'll swear on your own grave that you'll never listen to this old fool for at least six months (which I indeed have not). See? It's complicated.

Ladd is openly invective towards people with different philosophies than his own. With Orange County having the reputation for being the center of conservates in the LA area, that joke is very apropo. Another thing, Ladd occupies a late night spot; the last place he was on during a prominent time became a talk radio station. He seems to have a prominent following for the reasons mentioned in the original post, Jim's enthusiast love of music. That's all well and good, but don't look for him during drive time; Ronald Reagan doesn't get trashed that often around here. I don't recall much politics on the station besides Ladd; they market themsleves as a station which plays classic rock from a harder angle and that's what they play.

That Bill Simon comment really hurt, but lets be honest "blue collar workers" who don't primarily listen to Spanish language radio are a dying breed here. Some of them still exist, but they seem have moved beyond a compensation level which that term implies or work for the city. Yesterdays blue collar worker's children are today's professionals. In fact, I stole the "righteous prick" comment from one such guy after he informed me some years ago that Klsx was no longer a classic rock station. While I was searching for a word to describe the recently departed Ladd from L.A. airwaves, he came up with the "righteous something or another" comment. That guy, who grew up in a San Pedro working class family, is now manager of the western region for unit of GE. He listens to Klos, as do I but without the working class background, because of more cultural reasons than anything politilcal. We grew up on AC/DC, Eagles,Skynard and so forth.

Bob's last batch of comments are gobbledeygook.
