If You Like That Colby Cosh...

If You Like That Colby Cosh Weirdo, Think About Flowing Him Some Cash: I'll think about it, then get distracted by the Angels losing another game, and misplace my train of thought. Colby's out of a job because his magazine -- apparently, the only right-of-Bill-Clinton periodical in all of Canada, that housed under one roof all Canuckian strains represented in the U.S. by the eternally feuding National Review, Reason and Weekly Standard -- suddenly and suspiciously closed down. Ex-staffer Jeremy Lott has been Ground Zero for the impressively bitter carcass-poking.

The various "Report" newsmagazines had their heyday in the 70s and 80s during the Trudeau era
when Canada was significantly more left wing than today.

As Canada has moved more to the right, the Report become more and more irrelevant, and retreated to a shrill social conservatism (anti-gay, anti-immigrant, anti-choice,)that neither reflected the beliefs of the population, nor influenced it.

Maybe Colby can get a real job now.
