typed "89" instead of "98" by mistake. That would make him a bad typist. Good for you for knowing that Sosa wasn't on the team, and then calling him and idiot!

And good for me for my excellent spelling!

But he also claims Sosa has a "gun for an arm," which also indicates he hasn't been paying much attention.

Corking the bat may be the least of Sammy's sins... How do you think that skinny kid managed to "bulk up" and start jacking line drives over the wall? Maybe a little DecaDurabolin sprinkled on his Wheaties? I know, I know -- Sammy has angrily denied being a steroid head. Of course, he also refused Rick Reilly's offer to clear it up once and for all with a test...

That first Sosa entry of Tony's, the interview, is as funny as anything I've seen on the web this week. Pierce excels at baseball. Consider his first words on the fan attack in KC a couple years ago.

...which you can find here. Good 'n' sarcastic.

The hysteria over this has been ridiculous. The penalty that Sosa has received (eight games, reduced to seven for no discernable reason) is completely in line with prior penalties for this infraction. Hopefully, he'll do his time, be reasonably contrite, and a lot of constipated amateur and professional sports pundits can go on with their lives.
