Synopsis:"I'm Andrew Sullivan. I do not understand the first thing about weblogs. They're electronic op-ed pages for right wingers, nothing more. These fruity lefty California types have written silly books using terms I don't understand. So lets talk about how great I am."

Anyone who holds up Drudge, Moby and (Jebus Christ on a Bike & Pogo Stick!) Michael Barone as examples of blogging needs to be dragged into the street and run over by the feet of a heavy offensive lineman.

Blogs are Cowboy-Hat wearing LA-based writers, Teenage Camgirls, Angry Black Men In Boston, and Clevelanders who write about blowjob techniques.

If your blog is not a part of a community - you are doing something wrong.

It all reminds me of when everyone thought the internet was a geeks-only zone. Then I showed my mom email and ebay and she realized what the hell it really was.

I'm no fan of Sullivan either, but I didn't really get that from what he said. People can write about whatever they want in their blogs, that seemed to be his main point. And there was some truth to what they said about Rebecca Blood et al.

By the way, when did Dever start writing about blowjob techniques? Just kidding, Dever!

A delicate point, but isn't it actually a straw hat? Like the kind Uncle Remus wore?

Looks good on you, though...

It was straw (thing was destroyed within hours of that picture being taken, five years ago). In fact, I need a new straw hat ... and I need a new photo. Suggestions for either are welcome.
