L.A. Times Politically-Corr...

L.A. Times Politically-Correct Brainfart of the Week: As mentioned on LA Examiner, check out this ridiculous Posted by at August 19, 2002 02:25 PM

The best part of this story is the goddamn Saturn ad in Flash, in which an animated SUV runs directly over the headline (or so it does when I call it up). The ethics of separating editorial from advertising aside, this is about the most ironic thing I've seen all week.

Interestingly enough the Washington Post had a similar feature a year or two ago. Same conclusion -- that Hispanics were being struck in disproportionate numbers. The explanation offered was that many of them were immigrants from places in Central/South America where highways were less common and cars generally travelled slower. Hence, the pedestrians weren't good at judging the speed of an approaching car.
