Any of You Once or Current ...

Any of You Once or Current Expats out There Read Prague?: I'm being interviewed tomorrow for an NPR segment on Arthur Phillips' hot new novel and the whole '90s mitteleuropa expatriate thing. If any of you current or former residents of Budapest or Prague have read it (I haven't), I'd love to hear your impressions.

Will your interview be available on the NPR site?

"Billy Savage"? What a fantastic name....

Actually, the interview has been cancelled. Whoops!

No, haven't read "Prague" yet (still waiting for the interlibrary loan), but I did just finish John Beckman's "The Winter Zoo" (same novel concept, but set in Krakow - both were reviewed in the same NY Times article last week). For someone who doesn't particularly like novels, I really enjoyed this one. Although, having lived over there, too, I think I might have missed out on some of the more...interesting storylines Beckman's got happening. No incest or orgies in my quiet Stresovice neighborhood, alas.
