The following is a very partial list of reporters who have been covering the Balkan wars for at least the last six months, if not six years. Philip Smucker Houston Chronicle Has written 50 dispatches from the region over the past 12 months. Chris Hedges and others The New York Times Hedges has been writing incisive analysis from Yugoslavia for most of this decade, and the Times' other correspondents have been excellent. Justin Brown Christian Science Monitor Has written more than 100 articles from the region since January 1998. Paul Watson Los Angeles Times Former Pulitzer-prize winning Toronto Star reporter/photographer has been in the Balkans with the Times since September, and is currently said to be the only American journalist in Pristina. R. Jeffrey Smith Washington Post Reported from Balkans since January 1998. Paul Wood BBC Was the only Western reporter to witness last year's Serb massacre at the town of Drenica; has been in the region since at least 1998. Julius Strauss Electronic Telegraph A fearless type who specializes in gaining access to forbidden areas, Strauss has been in the former Yugoslavia for most of the past three years.
